If you are a registered user (registration only takes a few minutes), you can log in and start writing your diary straight away. It can be on any topic, so long as the content doesn't break the Community Rules!

Once logged in, select the Write diary entry option from the lefthand menu. The system will automatically date the entry, so all you need to do is think of a title for today's contribution and then tell us what happened!

Please note that the diary will not preserve any carriage returns you enter - to start a new paragraph, please insert <BR><BR> wherever you would like a line break. If you are used to HTML tags, you can use them when writing your diary; if you don't know what they are, don't worry, just use the 'new line' tag, <BR>. Remember to use it twice for paragraphs!.

Once you have written your first entry, please use the contact form to ask me to finish setting up your diary. I'll need to know:

  • your Sense username
  • the title of your diary
  • the topic(s) covered, so I know on which Sense sites to include it

If you do not contact me with details of your new diary, I will set it up with your username as part of the title, but please allow extra time for this as I have to pick up the changes manually at the moment.

You will notice that there are two other options on the entry page:

  • Allow comments for this entry?

Do you want readers to be able to comment on this contribution? They cannot alter what you have written - comments appear separately.
  • Who should be able to see this diary entry?

If you set this to 'No one', only you and the Administrators will be able to read the entry. Administrators treat all hidden entries as confidential.

You can access your diary by logging into any Sense website connected to the Portal that displays the Logon Form. As new Sense sites are added, please let me know if your diary topic is suitable for it to be listed on the new site. You can display the same diary on multiple sites if you wish.

Important Note: If you had a diary on the test system, please let me know so that I can copy it across for you.

If this FAQ item didn't answer your question, please use the Contact Wendy link to tell me, and I will do my best to help.
