Contributions to the World of Sense Community
(including all of the 'Sense' sites)

By submitting a contribution to the website, you agree to grant us the right to edit your work in any way we see fit. For example, we may wish to correct typographical errors, remove inaccuracies, etc. You also agree to allow us to use the work to publicise the services we make available to the public. For example, we might copy part of a comment on the de-cluttering list to the website to make the information available to a broader audience; if you leave an entry in our Visitors Book, we might use it as a testamonial; or if you send your original poem to a forum, we might place it elsewhere on the website to draw attention to you talent! Although these are a few examples, please rest assured that we will always use your contributions responsibly, but we do need to be able to excercise all copyright and publicity rights with respect to your contribution in order to avoid spending a lot of time asking individuals for permission to use work they have submitted to the website. If you do not want to grant to us the rights set out above, please do not submit your contribution to the website.

Further to the above paragraph, by submitting your contribution to the website, you warrant that your contribution is your own original work and that you have the right to make it available to us for all the purposes specified above. Also, if you contribute work that brings about cause for legal action, you agree to indemnify us against any and all relevant claims that may be made against us in the matter. The website is frequently surveyed for inappropriate material, but please be aware that it is entirely your responsibility to check the content of your own contributions carefully before submitting them!

Community Rules

You agree to use the World of Sense Communities (including Forums and E-mail Discussion Lists) in accordance with the following Community Rules:

• No disruptive, offensive or abusive behaviour: contributions must be constructive and polite, not mean-spirited or contributed with the intention of causing trouble.



• No unlawful content.



• Do not use multiple logins for the purpose of disrupting the community or annoying other users.



• Be patient: users of all ages and abilities may be taking part in the relevant World of Sense Community.



• No spamming or off-topic material: we don’t allow the submission of the same or very similar contributions many times. Please don't re-submit your contribution to more than one discussion, or contribute off-topic material in subject-specific areas.



• No off-topic advertising. If you are a regular user of the Community, you may mention your business in a conversation when it is relevant to do so. Anyone doing more advertising than talking may have their account suspended. Please note that the only business we endorse is World of Sense Limited! chuckle Please ensure the legitimacy of an enterprise before sending them your money. There are some articles on the Privacysense website that you may find useful when checking on your rights.



• No spoilers: material containing plot developments should be submitted in a way that other users can see your contribution contains a spoiler before they read the content. We're very fussy about this since Wendy had the ending of The Sixth Sense spoilt. Grr! If in doubt, put 'Spoiler Alert' either in the subject line or first line of the message.
  
• Contributions containing languages other than English may be removed.



• You are allowed to use a pseudonym to protect your privacy, but do not select an alternate identity that others could confuse with someone else.
  
• No inappropriate (e.g. vulgar, offensive, etc.) user names or signatures.



• You may refer to specific URLs (website addresses) so long as the sites are relevant to the current discussion. Please note that, apart from World of Sense, you are able to submit links to all the 'Sense' websites, so long as they are 'on topic', so please consider putting them in one of those sections as well.



• If you are unhappy with a Community contribution, please inform the host of the Community area (e.g. a forum moderator or e-mail list owner) or, in the case of articles, etc., please use the Contact Form on the website to let us know.

Safety:

We advise that you never reveal any personal information about yourself or anyone else (for example: telephone number, home address or email address), and please do not include postal addresses of any kind. If you have a helpful address to share, inform us using the 'Contact Us' link, and they will promote it if they see fit. Never reveal your real world routine, or mention where you will be at a given time.

If you're under 16, please obtain permission from your parent or guardian before taking part in the World of Sense Community.

General

Wendy Bance reserves the right to delete any contribution, or take action against any account, at any time, for any reason.

We may change these Rules at any time. Please review this webpage regularly to ensure you are aware of any changes made. Your continued use of this website after changes are posted means you agree to be legally bound by these terms as updated and/or amended. If you wish to be notified when this page is updated, please join the Update-Announce e-mail announcement list. This is available on the World of Sense list server, but please note that you will also receive update notifications whenever there is a change on any of the 'Sense' websites.
